Reports
Welcome to our Reports section, where you’ll find the latest published inspection reports from the Care Inspectorate, Scotland’s independent regulator of early learning, childcare, and out-of-school care services.
What These Reports Are
-
The Care Inspectorate conducts evaluations of care services, including school‑aged childcare and wraparound care, assessing critical aspects such as Care & Support, Environment, Staffing, and Leadership & Management
-
Each area is graded on a six‑point scale: from 1 (Unsatisfactory) to 6 (Excellent)
Why These Reports Matter
-
Inspection reports highlight a service’s strengths and areas needing improvement, offering transparency and helping families make informed childcare decisions.
-
Higher‑risk or underperforming services typically receive more frequent inspections, while consistently high-performing services may be inspected less often.
